A self-taught artist, Michaela grew up in Grand Marais, Minnesota, which sparked both her love for nature, and (being a town of less than two thousand people) for seeing the world and meeting new people! She has since travelled to 30+ countries, which has inspired some of her work. Nature and music inspire the rest. She currently lives in Minneapolis with her husband and two dogs. 

 

Her happy place is at home, painting on the couch with her dogs while rewatching Friends, or listening to Joni Mitchell, Hozier, Pomme, classical jazz and the likes.
